Set on a man made platform on the Jebel Hafeet mountain, this project tackled with the idea of the juxtaposition of the man made versus the natural. Similar to how the mountain was scarred by man made machinery, I started with the idea of this housing complex slicing through the ground. Through material explorations with steel and wood, I made this hybrid sculpture to represent this slicing action. the nuts and bolts and sand blasted lines provide an idea of a structural overlay, and the wooden slats are a response to the contextual climatic conditions. 

Moving past the scultpture, the hybrid was used to inspire an actual architectural manifestation.
